MARY JUDGE – SPIRAL FORM DRAWINGS AT GALLERY JOE

Spiral Form Drawings opens on Friday, February 4 in the Front Gallery along with Below the Surface by Stephen Robin in the Vault Gallery. Both shows continue through March 12, 2005.

In her new works Judge continues to develop the ancient method of spolvero, the technique of pouncing pigment through tiny perforations onto another surface. Using this technique, Judge will create a spolvero drawing directly on the wall of the gallery. In addition, Judge will show the largest works on paper that she has attempted to date using this technique. Several of the drawings measure 54 x 40 inches. Small works will also be part of the show. Over the past year Judge has been working on a series of one of a kind books also employing the method of spolvero. Four of these will be included in the show.
